Inkwell provides online tutoring in English, reading, writing instruction, and standardized test preparation. Services are primarily offered by trimester on a subscription basis, but sessions can also be scheduled à la carte. All sessions, typically 50 minutes long, are conducted via videoconferencing. Master Teacher-level instruction is delivered by a highly experienced subject-matter expert, and teacher-level instruction is delivered by a well qualified and seasoned instructor.
À LA CARTE PLAN
À la carte lessons are provided to a single student with no option to share lessons with another student. These lessons do not require an initial interview, an individualized learning plan, or a long-term commitment. Tuition is payable in advance on the first day of every month lessons are scheduled, and you are required to maintain a credit card on file for automatic payment of tuition. Prior to the beginning of a new trimester, you may convert to a subscription plan if you so desire.
Both individual (1:1) and shared (2:1) subscription plans require separately priced diagnostic testing and an initial interview to determine a student’s skill level, to pair the student with an appropriate teacher, and to develop an individualized learning plan. Tuition can be paid in full (a lump sum) before the semester begins or be scheduled in monthly installments that include a modest convenience charge. On the subscription plan, you are required to maintain a credit card on file for automatic payment of tuition in advance of services.
Inkwell operates on a trimester basis. There are three semesters of four months each. When scheduling, you should check your individual tutor’s schedule to confirm availability during holiday weeks.
Fall Semester: September — December
Winter Semester: January — April
Spring/Summer Semester: May — August
INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS (1:1)
Individual sessions are private tutoring lessons offered to a single student. Overseen by a primary teacher, they are highly customizable with an individualized learning plan (ILP).
SHARED SESSIONS (2:1)
Shared sessions are tutoring lessons offered to two students who are studying the same subject together. They are tailored to the course of study that both families agree to in the learning plan (ILP). The advantages of shared sessions are that students have the encouragement of study buddies and that parents have a cost break. If you want to share sessions, you must arrange your own partner and attend the intake interview together. Once shared sessions are arranged, both of you must opt for the same payment plan and follow the same schedule of attendance.
À la Carte Pricing
Each à la carte session is $60 with a teacher and $85 with a master teacher.
Subscription Lump Sum
If you would like to pay your tuition up front in full and save convenience charges, you may elect Inkwell’s lump sum option. Payment for your tuition will be drawn on the first day of the month in which the trimester begins. The chart below indicates the full trimester charge for each student in a Service Agreement.
If you would like to budget the cost of your lessons, you may elect the option to divide tuition into equal monthly installments that include a small convenience fee. Payments will be drawn on the first day of each of the four months during that trimester. The chart below indicates the monthly charge for each student in a Service Agreement.
Besides the tuition above, you may be charged for curriculum materials, which vary in price. Click here to read about the books we use.
