Shakespeare expertly weaves them all into his plays. Join us for a behind-the-scenes introduction to the Bard of Avon. Because you have read about his characters and plot lines, you will be better equipped to understand the complexities of his plays in high school when you study them or watch a performance. Be forewarned: you may just fall in love with his language and storytelling!
In this class, you will explore three of Shakespeare’s most popular plays through the abridged work of collaborators Charles and Mary Lamb. They retell Shakespeare’s timeless classics in prose, preserving much of his beautiful language. We will highlight the themes, characters, situations, and lessons learned in As You Like It, The Tempest, and Hamlet.
