THIS 2017 CLASS HAS BEEN CONCLUDED.
recommended for grades 3-5
The best form of flattery is imitation. It’s also one of the best ways to learn to write. By imitating the animal fables of Aesop, students in this class learn to paraphrase, choose powerful words, and improve their writing style. They practice the same techniques with each fable to master the skills taught–important skills that they will use in school to take notes for research projects. After polishing their fables, they publish them in a book of their own design, which they share on the final day of class. Parents are encouraged to attend the celebratory reading.
